Last night I dreamt that I saw my maternal grandmother walking by in a hurry. She passed away in 2009 and in the dream this was still true and both myself and my grandmother were aware of this fact in the dream. I’m not sure if background is necessary but I wasn’t particularly close with my grandmother when she was alive. Not because there were any issues or family drama she just had dozens of grandchildren and I was one of the younger ones. Also, I have never dreamt of my grandma since her death. Anyway, in the dream my grandmother was walking down my driveway in a big hurry like she was late for something. I knew it was her even though it was dark out and I couldn’t see her well. I yelled to her as she passed by and she yelled back that she had to get back (she didn’t specify where, just back). I asked her if I could ask her some questions so she stopped and turned around to talk. I could hear her plainly but she was about 30 yards away and I couldn’t see her well. It should also be noted that she didn’t sound exactly like I remember either. I asked her if when you die do you become all knowing. She said yes. I then asked if she had knowledge of what would happen to all of us in the future. She said yes. I asked if I ended up happy. She said yes then took a long pause and said, after you kill that man you’ll be happy. I was shocked and asked if she meant I was going to kill my husband (side note my grandma never really knew my husband in life and we are extremely happy). She said no it wasn’t my husband who I was going to kill. Then I asked her if my husband and I are together forever. She said not exactly. Again shocked, I asked if we are going to get divorced and she said no but you only have 12 years left with him. I asked her if she meant he was going to die in 12 years (he will only be 52 in 12 years) and she said yes. Then as often happens in my dreams time jumped a bit and my grandma was gone and I was walking away crying and telling my sister about what my grandma told me. It was light out and I saw my sister clearly, unlike my grandma. Then I woke up.
Dreams are highly subjective and personal, so it's important to remember that interpretations can vary. With that said, let's analyze some possible symbolic meanings in your dream.
Seeing your maternal grandmother in a hurry could symbolize a sense of urgency or unfinished business related to her presence in your life. Despite not being particularly close with her when she was alive, the dream might be highlighting an aspect of her influence or significance that you were not fully aware of.
The fact that both you and your grandmother were aware of her passing in the dream suggests a level of consciousness and awareness beyond the constraints of physical reality. This could imply a spiritual connection or message from your grandmother.
The dim lighting and difficulty in seeing her clearly might represent the uncertainty or lack of clarity surrounding her message. It might also reflect the sense that you didn't know her well enough while she was alive, and now have limited insight into her thoughts or intentions.
When you asked her if when you die you become all knowing, and she answered yes, it could signify the belief that after death, one gains a higher understanding or wisdom. It could also represent the idea that your grandmother now has expansive knowledge or insight beyond earthly limitations.
The shocking revelation that you will be happy after killing someone is a powerful symbol that could represent the need for transformation or symbolic death of an aspect of yourself. This doesn't necessarily imply literal violence, but rather a profound change or letting go of a destructive pattern or belief.
The statement that you only have 12 years left with your husband might be symbolic of a limited time frame to nurture and cherish your relationship. It can serve as a reminder to make the most of your time together and prioritize the quality of your bond.
Crying and sharing the conversation with your sister at the end of the dream could symbolize the need for emotional support and understanding from someone close to you. It showcases a desire for connection and reassurance during unsettling moments.
Overall, this dream suggests a need for introspection and contemplation about your family relationships, the passing of loved ones, and the impermanence of certain aspects of life. It may encourage you to seek clarity, healing, and a deeper understanding of yourself and your loved ones.
